Scriptural Lullabies Review and Giveaway!
Every once in a while an album comes along that touches me so deeply I want to tell the whole world about it. Scriptural Lullabies is one of those albums. If you are a Christian you and your family will find profound comfort in these beautiful lullabies. Fully orchestrated tracks with beautiful vocals are wonderful settings for beloved Bible verses.
I rarely listen to music at home. If I am at home then we are singing together or enjoying some quiet. I listen to music in the car and there are times when I get in my car for a short “Mommy break” and just take a drive. This month I took a couple of breaks and was so grateful to have Scriptural Lullabies come on as I was driving. One day, I just pulled into a parking lot and listened to the whole album as a kind of meditation. I returned home refreshed and with a whole new outlook.
This album is truly wonder full. My favorite songs are “Bless the Lord” which I find myself singing over and over during the day, “Be Still and Know” which is based in Psalm 46:10, and “Seek Ye First” which is based on one of my favorite Biblical verses. I love that my son will grow up listening to these songs. They are a fabulous way to reinforce the ideas of the Christian faith and by infusing these words with music, they become songs of comfort for a lifetime.
Scriptural Lullabies is the first in a series of albums by Breakaway Music. To learn more you are invited to http://www.scripture-lullabies.com/

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great cd!
I have many favorite scriptures but one that comes to mind is Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you…plans for a hope and a future.
I’d love to listen to this. It seems like Scripture put to music always ’sticks’ better than just straight non-musical memorization.
My current favorite passage is in Ezekiel 37 at the Valley of Dry Bones. This is one of my favorite pictures of hope – God redeeming a valley of bones (and not just bones, but DRY bones!!) into a vast, breathing, living army. (Not quite the stuff of lullabies, but comforting nonetheless!
)
37:5 …This is what the sovereign Lord says to these bones: Look, I am about to infuse breath into you and you will live. 37:6 I will put tendons on you and muscles over you and will cover you with skin; I will put breath in you and you will live. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”
Congratulations Elizabeth! You won the CD! If you will email me your address I will make sure it is sent out to you soon!
I had a hard time choosing my favorite as there are a few that REALLY hit home! 1Peter 3:3-13 seemed to keep coming to me…
“3 It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. 4 No, your beauty should come from within you — the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God. 5 In this same way the holy women who lived long ago and followed God made themselves beautiful, yielding to their own husbands. 6 Sarah obeyed Abraham, her husband, and called him her master. And you women are true children of Sarah if you always do what is right and are not afraid. 7 In the same way, you husbands should live with your wives in an understanding way, since they are weaker than you. But show them respect, because God gives them the same blessing he gives you — the grace that gives true life. Do this so that nothing will stop your prayers. 8 Finally, all of you should be in agreement, understanding each other, loving each other as family, being kind and humble. 9 Do not do wrong to repay a wrong, and do not insult to repay an insult. But repay with a blessing, because you yourselves were called to do this so that you might receive a blessing. 10 The Scripture says, “A person must do these things to enjoy life and have many happy days. He must not say evil things, and he must not tell lies. 11 He must stop doing evil and do good. He must look for peace and work for it. 12 The Lord sees the good people and listens to their prayers. those who do evil.” 13 If you are trying hard to do good, no one can really hurt you.”
But because I feel that one of the most important things in life is GRATITUDE, I also love, Phillipians 4:6 “Don’t worry about anything, but instead, pray about EVERYTHING. Tell God what you need and THANK HIM for everything.” Thanks for the reflecting time, Amy, you are an angel!
