CMN Danceathon

Our family was part of an event last weekend that really lifted our spirits.  Students at the University of Maine at Orono raised over $30,000 for our local Children’s Miracle Network by putting on a dance marathon.  They danced through the night for pledges and made a stand for sick children.  What a wonder.

We were invited to come and tell our story and visit with the students.  Every one was bright and articulate and made me hopeful for the future.  Our son Clayton was hosted by a group of sorority sisters from AOPie.  I expected him to one day be surrounded by intelligent, beautiful and adoring women but I didn’t expect it to be so soon!  He also got to meet some engineering students, which was a highlight as he wants to be an engineer someday.

The money raised from the event will go to support the stream of miracles that come out of our local NICU and children’s hospital.  A fabulous event.  Thank you UMaine!
